In 2006 her “Persimmon” won “Best Still Life” in the International Realist Competition and was selected by the Artist’s Magazine for their December cover and “Best Art of 2006” in the genre. Kim also has work in an upcoming tour of 12 museums nation-wide. Less than two years after her introduction to fine art, Kim was working as an official copyist at the National Gallery in Washington D.C., where she concentrated on the Dutch still life masterpieces of the 16th and 17th centuries.
